American Idol Finalist Caleb Kennedy Exits From The Show After His Old Racially Offensive Video Surfaces: ‘Was Younger, Did Not Think About The Actions’
One thing that goes on the internet cannot be erased. Speaking of which, a racially insensitive video of Caleb Kennedy surfaced on the internet and it went viral on social media in no time. Caleb Kennedy who was one of the finalists of American Idol recently took to his Instagram account and informed that he will be no longer be a part of the singing reality show after his offensive video surfaces on the internet. According to Deadline, Kennedy came under fire for one of his posts where he was seen seated opposite someone who appears to be wearing a Ku Klux Klan hood. 

In his statement, the singer apologised for his insensitive video and shared a note, informing everyone about his exit and holding accountability for his actions. He wrote, “There was a video that surfaced on the internet and it displayed actions that were not meant to be taken in that way. I was younger and did not think about the actions, but that’s not an excuse. I wanna say sorry to all my fans and everyone who I have let down.”  Kennedy further stated he will also be taking a break from social media. 

In his statement, Caleb said, “I’ll be taking a little time off social media to better myself, but saying that, I know this has hurt and disappointed a lot of people and made people lose respect for me. I’m so sorry! I pray that I can one day regain your trust in who I am and have your respect! Thank you for supporting me.” Sharing this note, he backed it with, “An update from me, about American Idol.”

Fans are a little disappointed with his exit and still want him back in the show. A user wrote, “Are you kidding me???? Why must people get offended over EVERY SINGLE THING?! Still rooting for you!!! You’re going to do BIG THINGS!” While another one said, “We all make mistakes. They don’t define us but they can serve to help us grow and become a better version of who we want to be. Keep pressing forward and we will keep supporting you!”
